Introducing the Workday Touchpoints blog series
We’re launching a new series of blog posts on the Modernization website focusing on the ways Workday connects systems, information, and people across WSU. If you’ve been curious about how your day-to-day work activities fit into the bigger picture, or how data in Workday plays a role across multiple processes and systems, the Workday Touchpoints series is for you.
Workday Touchpoint features will dive into topics such as:
- Why certain processes are performed in Workday including:
- Links to university policies and/or central unit websites
- A high-level look at how processes function in Workday, and how they connect to other people, tasks, and data points
- Links to helpful resources, including reference guides and existing articles
- Why certain data is stored in Workday, and why it’s important to keep it up-to-date, such as:
- The impacts incorrect or outdated data can have upstream or downstream in processes and systems connecting to Workday
- How data is used in reporting across the University, including how Workday data assists in monitoring Strategic Plan objectives
- Other connection points to State systems, such as employee benefits
- A comprehensive look into specific HCM and Finance data and processes in Workday, including:
- Time, Leave, and Absence
- Service Centers
- Employee personal information
- Payroll deductions and benefits
Throughout the series, we’ll highlight how WSU employees’ diligent use of Workday continues to support the mission and goals established by Modernization at the very beginning of the Workday Project: to build a strong and flexible foundation to support the complex and ever-changing Finance, Payroll and HR business needs of WSU.
With our Workday TouchPoints series, we hope to foster a greater understanding of how what we do in Workday impacts our fellow colleagues, departments and areas, and WSU itself. By knowing how processes, information, and employees connect within Workday we can continue to create a stronger university.
We’re excited to dive deeper into these ideas with you, and answer your questions along the way.
Keep a look out for the first Workday TouchPoints feature in the upcoming May Workday Digest.
