Introducing Quick Tips in Workday

Beginning in April, we’re adding Quick Tips to select processes in Workday to help users get the guidance and resources they need without having to leave the system.

Quick Tips are in-process help text windows that provide guidance and links to resources specific to a process that can be accessed while completing that process in Workday. Quick tips make it faster and easier for users to get the information they need, when they need it, without leaving Workday to visit the Knowledge Base or one of the Modernization’s training and resources pages.

For example, Quick Tips will enable users to get more help and context about Job Reasons or Job Profiles directly in the Change Job process, or Expense Line Items in the Expense Report process. Below is an example of a Quick Tip that will be available in the Change Job Process. By selecting the question mark icon to the right of a process field, users can expand a Quick Tip to view guidance and access any provided resources. The Quick Tip is indicated by the selected question mark icon in blue.

Testing is underway now and the rollout will begin in April. The first 5 processes to get Quick Tips are:

  • Change Job
  • Expense Report
  • Spend Authorization
  • Personal Information Change
  • Request Time Off

Additional Quick Tips for processes in Payroll, Hire, Leave of Absence, PCard verification, Compensation, and Positions are also being developed, and will follow throughout the year.
