Issue: Horizontal scroll bar not functioning while performing select business processes in Microsoft Edge browser

Known Issue: When using Microsoft’s Edge browser to perform certain business processes in Workday, the horizontal (left to right) scroll bar at the bottom of the main section is not functioning properly.

Time to resolution: Unknown. Users may use an alternative browser, such as Google Chrome or Firefox, to avoid encountering the issue in the meantime.

Details:

When using Microsoft’s Edge browser, the horizontal (left to right) scroll bar is normally draggable. Following a recent update from Microsoft, this scroll bar functionality is currently inconsistent and may not work when performing select processes in Workday, such as Create Supplier Invoice. Currently, it is not known how many processes requiring the horizontal scroll bar may be affected.

Microsoft Edge is one of several browser options for WSU employees. This issue is seen in the newer versions of Edge (version 114), but not older ones such as version 113.

Two work-arounds are currently available to avoid the issue:

  • Use the “Toggle Fullscreen Viewing Mode” and move the scrollbar in the fullscreen view.
  • Use a different browser such as Chrome or Firefox.
