Spring Feature Release brings Workday updates

The next Feature Release will take place over the weekend of March 11 and 12. This is Workday’s first of 2 bi-annual updates for 2022. Here are some things you can expect after the update:

VISIBILITY IMPROVEMENTS FOR BUTTONS, CHECK BOXES, AND RADIO BUTTONS

  • Radio buttons and check boxes: A bolder outline makes these easier to see, especially for those using high-contrast mode.
  • Buttons: Going forward, all Workday buttons will look the same. They’ll have a darker outline, and will turn completely dark when you hover over them (as opposed to turning grey currently). Fields where you input dates will also be larger and easier to read.

On the left is a current button in Workday, compared with how buttons will look after the Feature Release.

BETTER DECIMAL PLACE ACCURACY

  • Decimal precision will increase from 6 to 12 decimal places on allocation results, preventing large rounding differences and improving calculation efficiency.

SEARCH IMPROVEMENTS

  • Workday Search will better predict what you’re looking for, and improve the order of search results.
  • A new 20-term search limit will help you refine your searches to better find what you’re looking for.

ABILITY TO CHANGE PURCHASE ORDERS WITHOUT CREATING CHANGE ORDERS

  • You’ll be able to make minor changes to non-monetary fields in purchase orders (POs) without creating change orders or resubmitting POs for approval. You can find the new task, called “Edit Without Change Order,” in the related actions menu of approved and issued purchase orders. The new task will also allow you to specify which fields to display, and will show any triggered custom validations on purchase orders.
