Auto-calculation of straight time for part-time employees now live

As of August 1, straight time for all part-time, overtime eligible, salaried employees calculates automatically for time entered in excess of the employees expected FTE hours (for example: if the employees FTE is 50%, straight time will fire automatically for any time entered in excess of 20 hours).

This functionality replaces the need to manually enter “Straight Time (Excess Hours Worked)” on weeks when a part-time employee enters hours in excess of their FTE.

This calculation may present issues in the following scenarios:

  • FTE changes mid-week
  • Multiple jobs (with combinations of hourly and salary) and overtime for the work week

Please submit a Workday Service Desk ticket if you identify errors in the calculation for these and any other scenarios that may arise.

The following reference guides have been updated to reflect these updates:

The Entering Straight Time for Employees guide has been retired.
