Salary Over the Cap functionality now live

As of July 1, 2023, Salary Over the Cap functionality is live in Workday for the FY24 fiscal year.

Cost Center Managers and Grant Managers are highly encouraged to review the Salary Over the Cap training, which can be accessed on demand here. This training covers how to enter and update Costing Allocations for employees with an Institutional Base Salary (IBS) rate exceeding the current DHHS Salary Cap of $212,100 per year paid on DHHS awards.

Cost Center Managers and Grant Managers should be aware of the following dates impacting Salary Over the Cap for the start of FY24:

• July1, 2023: Costing for those impacted takes effect from for the July 1-15 pay period.
• July 6-18, 2023: To update the costing before pay day on July 25, update costing allocations between July 6-18 (after payroll cut off for the June 15-30 pay period, and prior to payroll cutoff for July 1-15 pay period).
