Introducing Employee Self-Service

Starting in July 2020, the new Workday software will be implemented University-wide. This change includes an important feature called Employee Self-Service (ESS). Watch the video or read on to learn more.

ESS will create one spot for employees to manage their personal and payroll information.

The need for many paper forms will disappear once Workday is implemented and ESS comes into play. Workday will give you the freedom to view your information and benefits, set up direct deposit, and request time off or leaves of absence, all from your computer or mobile device. You will also be able to change personal information, like your emergency contacts, home address, and preferred name.

The list goes on for what you can manage and update using Workday. Here are just some of the other tasks you can accomplish with Employee Self-Service:

  • View and print your pay slips
  • Change your tax withholdings
  • Access tax documents, like your W-2 form
  • View supervisory organization, which shows the relationship between employees and supervisors
  • Route processes to the right person for approval
What your supervisor can access What your supervisor cannot access
  • Job description
  • Position description
  • Pay summary
  • Your direct deposit
  • Benefits enrollment
  • Pension and retirement information

To make it even more efficient and easy to use, Workday will notify you when your supervisor approves requested time off, leave, and more.
