September 2025 Feature Release recap
Workday issues two major updates, called “Feature Releases,” per year. The second Feature Release of 2025, also called “R2,” took place September 19-20.
This Feature Release included predominantly behind-the-scenes system improvements, as well as several enhancements to HR, payroll, and finance processes.
Review a recap of key updates from R2 below.
New feature allows multiple time off request for same day
A new feature in the time off calendar allows employees to submit multiple time off requests for the same day.
Employees who need to submit multiple time off requests for a single day, such as in instances when employees have low accrual balances and need to use a combination of Annual Leave, Sick Leave, and Leave Without Pay to meet their scheduled hours, may now do so.
Payslips now list employee addresses and W-4 information
Information from employees’ most recent W-4 elections, both Federal and State, is now available directly on their payslips.
Additionally, employees’ addresses will now be displayed on the payslip between Name and Employee ID. Previously, employees had to take extra steps to produce a payslip with their address displayed.

Improvements to embedded analytics for business processes
Enhancements to embedded analytics functionality for business processes are now available in Workday.
With this update, the embedded analytics pop-up window will become movable and resizable. The pop-up can be opened in a new browser window, allowing side-by-side analysis without navigating away from the original process page.
New feature removes prior compensation when rehiring previously terminated workers
A new feature in Workday enables the rehire of previously terminated workers without reassigning or displaying compensation from their previous employment, when completing the Propose Compensation Hire step of the Hire process.

New attachment viewing options when in View Supplier Invoice task
New icons now allow split-screen viewing of attachments, or the ability to open attachments in a pop out window within the View Supplier Invoice task.
To learn more about this functionality, review the “View Invoices in a Split Screen” section in the updated Create Supplier Invoice guide.
Reference Guides have been updated to reflect any changes associated with the adoption of these new features.
