R1 brings Workday Home page and user interface updates

With the first Feature Release of 2026, Workday will implement several key updates to the look and feel of the Workday home page. Learn more about these changes below.

Relocation of the Search field

With this update, the Search field moves from above to below the page header and into the page body. This change makes it easier to locate and access the Search field.

When navigating Workday outside of the Home page, the Search bar returns to it’s location above the page header.

Changes to look & feel

Minor changes to the appearance of cards on the Home page are included in this update, including those to border shape and color.

The location of the main cards on the Home page will not change.

Additional changes to the Home page, including those to the Global Navigation menu, are anticipated late in 2026. We’ll provide information about these updates in the Workday Digest as more information is available.
