Known Issue: Workday Federated Search error

Known Issue: We’ve been alerted to a potential error involving the Workday Search bar and Federated Search functionality.

Time to Resolution: Workarounds are available for this issue below.

Details:

On the afternoon of Friday, November 17, we received a report that when using Workday Search, a WSU user received the following error: “The widget ‘federatedSearchResults’ was not found! It is probably configured incorrectly.”

This issue appears to be affecting only some WSU employees, and has been resolved using the workarounds below:

  • Clear your browser cache
  • Use an alternate browser
  • Switch from Federated to Classic Search using the steps outlined in this reference guide, or follow the instructions below:
    1. Select your profile icon in the top right of the Workday screen
    2. Select “My Account” from the menu
    3. Select “Change Preferences”
    4. In the “Search Preferences” section, remove the “New Workday Federated Search” from the Workday Search Provider field and select “Classic Workday Search”, or vice versa
    5. Log out and log back in again
