Monthly update for Workday training

The WSU community will receive training on how to use Workday starting in October. Due to circumstances surrounding COVID-19, Modernization leadership decided Workday training will be held entirely remotely in the fall. More information on what that will look like will be available soon.

Introducing the Workday trainers

The Modernization Team would like to familiarize WSU with the trainers that will help with transitioning to Workday.

About 60 trainers were selected from central units and the Modernization Team. This route was chosen because central unit employees are experts in human resources, finance, and other business processes that will be taught in training.

Train-the-Trainer program

Trainers are involved in a Train-the-Trainer program, which allows them to learn more about how Workday functions. In addition, the trainers are taught change management techniques, how to work essential technology, and other classroom management skills.

Currently, Workday trainers are in the process of helping review training materials so that they are ready to go come time for training in October.

Find the training you need

Role-to-Position Mapping is a part of the training process, which connects employees to the correct access in Workday. Area leadership will share role assignments at a local level to provide direction on which trainings are best to attend for each role.

The training course catalog is now available for viewing.

For more information, you can visit the Training page on the Modernization website. Also, training updates will be posted monthly on the Modernization blog.
