Faculty Resources

The switch to Workday in July 2020 will impact employees at every WSU location, including faculty. The Modernization Team is here to ease your transition from the 40-year-old mainframe system to a software that supports financial, payroll, human resource, and grant management processes.

Innovation to look forward to

Workday will replace several processes currently completed on myWSU, such as managing personal information.

Workday Employee Self-Service allows faculty to view payroll information and even update direct deposit accounts. This change will give you more independence and require less paperwork.

In addition, Workday will allow you to manage your travel, purchasing requests, grants, and supervisory duties all in one efficient and easy-to-use place.

Preparing for change

Training for Workday will start in May 2020. Change is not always easy, but collaboration, patience, and understanding will help the University make a smooth transition.

The administrative staff in your area will be impacted the most by the switch.

Resources are available for you as we make this important shift toward a better future at WSU. Here are a few:

  • Watch this short video about what’s in store for faculty, and share with your colleagues.
  • Be on the lookout for upcoming events by viewing the Modernization calendar.
  • You can expect the vocabulary for business processes to change. Here is a glossary of important terms with which to get familiar.
