Workday Accounting Center launches April 1
Modernization is pleased to announce that Workday Accounting Center will launch April 1, 2026, expanding financial reporting and budget planning capabilities at WSU. Accounting Center replaces the existing integration between myWSU and Workday.
Accounting Center was built to consolidate accounting from external sources into Workday, enabling visibility into more detailed attributes from myWSU to provide deeper context behind transactions, as opposed to an accounting output summarized by worktags.
These new attributes will include:
- Item type and number
- Student/organization Name and I.D.
- Additional academic information from myWSU
These data elements have been specifically identified as a means to support more in-depth financial reporting directly out of Workday.
With the launch of Accounting Center, new and enhanced reports will be made available in Workday to provide visibility into this new data. A new Workday security role will also be established to constrain FERPA-protected data elements.
In addition to enhancing data consolidation capabilities and broadening available attributes, Accounting Center enables the following:
- Reduction in accounting errors and increased trust in financial data.
- Increased ability to reconcile with other systems, and simplified bank reconciliation.
Note: myWSU is, and will continue to be, the system of record for student data and transactions.
Modernization is excited to move forward with implementing this valuable new tool, and will provide additional information, including reference materials and support resources, in the coming weeks.
Those with questions or concerns are encouraged to reach out via the Workday Service Desk.
