New integration reduces PAAs removing benefits from salary-only grants

Beginning February 1, 2025, a new integration automatically removes benefit expenses from grants that allow only salaries, saving WSU an average of 72+ hours each month creating manual PAAs.

Agreements with WSU county partners throughout the state previously required staff in CAHNRS to manually create PAAs every month to remove benefits for dozens of workers paid on grants allowing only salary expenses, not benefits. This integration automates these transfers, reducing administrative burden and saving time for the department.

This integration is part of a series of solutions being developed to decrease PAAs for WSU. The effort to reduce and streamline PAAs in Workday is an ongoing, high priority effort for the Modernization team and involved members of the WSU community.
