WSU to partner with Deloitte on Position Control project

Modernization is pleased to announce that WSU will once again partner with Deloitte as part of our continuation of the work begun by our position control/position budgeting workgroup.

Since September 2024, an internal workgroup has collaborated to review internal processes, observe best practices from other universities, and compile a list of core concepts and policy recommendations in this arena. Deloitte will help build on the core concepts developed by the workgroup by bringing additional insight and ideas, with the goal of establishing new policy and/or processes for the FY26 planning cycle and upcoming fiscal year. This has been a goal of Finance & Administration leadership as tracked by the Board of Regents, and we look forward to working with Deloitte to complete this goal.

Beginning in January 2025, WSU will work with Deloitte to educate them on work already completed within the workgroup. Then, moving forward, Deloitte is expected to facilitate a number of workshops and targeted interviews to further understand requirements and vet potential solutions with the community.

Following these sessions, WSU leadership will work with Deloitte to prepare policy and procedure recommendations that align with community goals and expectations. Finally, new policy and procedures will be configured, tested, and implemented as appropriate for the upcoming FY26 budget cycle.

We look forward to partnering with Deloitte yet again as a trusted partner for developing and implementing new business solutions for WSU. As the project progresses, we will continue to provide updates to key stakeholders. Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions or concerns.
