Update: Assignee worktag to be retired

As announced in January 2026, Modernization will retire the Assignee worktag by late Spring 2026.

As planning for this change continues, we continue to receive feedback and questions regarding this decision. To help answer these questions and provide additional insight, the Modernization team would like to provide the following clarifications:

The Assignee worktag being retired is the financial worktag currently used to tag “assignees” on specific transactions for reporting purposes. Assignee is not a security role.
This change will not impact the PI Dashboard, and is separate from the Program View and Gift View roles. More information about the PI Dashboard can be found in this post. (LINK)
Those who would like to make changes to a Program/Gift View role to gain access to the PI Dashboard may request to do so using this form.
