January 2026 Scientific and Research Supply Project update

The Scientific and Research Supply Project team continues to make significant progress toward the improvement of scientific and research supply purchasing at WSU.

Since November 2025, the following project goals have been completed:

• Finalized members of the Scientific Supply Advisory Committee.
• Issued an RFP for vendors.
• Received all vendor proposals.

In-progress activities:

• Continued review of vendor proposals.
• Technical work has begun to build punchout system for WSU.
  • The upcoming punchout system will connect Workday for WSU with a supplier’s website, allowing WSU buyers to shop and complete subsequent purchasing processes in a single, streamlined platform.

Upcoming key activities and goals:

• Complete award selection.
• Begin creating training and reference resources to support any upcoming process changes. 

The project team would like to thank the members of the WSU community members who have contributed their time and expertise toward these key milestones, and the goal of ensuring better support for research activities, and researchers, at WSU.
