Scientific and Research Supply Project update

Since the launch of Finance and Business Services’ initiative to improve scientific and research supply purchasing, our project team has been working diligently to lay the groundwork for success, and have made significant progress toward several key project goals.

Key completed goals:

• Sourced and analyzed key data from WSU’s current scientific vendors.
• Conducted stakeholder meetings to gather essential feedback from WSU subject matter experts.
• Modernization team began working on the Punchout technology in Workday.
• Began development of a Request for Proposal (RFP).

Upcoming activities:

• Review and finalize membership for Scientific Supply Advisory Committee.
• Issue our RFP for vendors.
• Receive all vendor proposals.
• Review proposals and complete award selection.

This work has provided valuable insight into WSU’s current-state scientific and research procurement processes and vendors. The project team appreciates the opportunity to engage with members of the university community and the valuable input they have provided in support of the goal of ensuring better support for research activities, and researchers, at WSU.
