New Availability Date validation on Create Position process

To help streamline the Create Position business process and eliminate the potential for error, Modernization has introduced a new validation rule related to the Availability Date field.

This validation does not allow future dated ‘Availability Dates,’ helping to eliminate errors and ensure a position is visible when initiating requisitions or a hire.

This validation is different from, and does not impact, the Earliest Hire Date field.

The Workday error message reads: “Availability Date is when the position becomes visible in Workday and available to create a requisition or start a hire; it should not be in the future. Earliest Hire Date may be in the future and should reflect the intended hire date.”
