WSU to implement Workday Accounting Center

Modernization has begun laying groundwork for the eventual implementation of Accounting Center, a tool built to consolidate accounting from external sources into Workday. When launched, Accounting Center will replace the existing accounting journal integration with myWSU.

Since acquiring the tool in early Summer 2025, Modernization has begun work on establishing a project team, and is currently working to establish a timeline for design, testing, and implementation. Those participating in the project alongside Modernization include several WSU departments and offices, Workday, and Deloitte.

Accounting Center will support the following objectives for improved financial reporting and budget planning at WSU:

• Consolidation of accounting from external sources into Workday, including attributes that may not naturally exist within Workday.
• Expanded available data points.
• Increased ability to reconcile with other systems, and simplified bank reconciliation.
• Reduction in accounting errors and increased trust in financial data.

Modernization is excited to announce this new tool, and will provide additional information, including a project timeline, in the near future.
