TouchNet Marketplace services now centrally funded

Finance and Administration leadership is pleased to announce that TouchNet Marketplace services will be funded centrally, rather than by individual departments. TouchNet services were initially implemented in 2022 starting with the student payment platform, and usage has grown steadily over the past few years.

TouchNet Marketplace offers a platform for e-commerce activities spanning beyond standard student account payments, including the ability to create customized storefronts for various products, events, and other activities that a university department may engage in. This decision to centrally fund this service allows for departments to modernize their payment intake by accepting credit card payments and to create scalable, self-managed virtual storefronts.

If your department has already signed up for TouchNet Marketplace under the previous service package agreements, this new arrangement will take precedent and services will not be back-charged to your department. Please note that this funding plan covers the cost of the TouchNet Marketplace subscription, departments are still subject to the transactional credit card processing fees and physical credit card equipment costs, if applicable.

If you have questions or would like more information about TouchNet, reach out to the Modernization team. To move forward with a new TouchNet Marketplace project, submit a new Commerce Intake Form ticket at the Workday Service Desk.
