Update to shift differential time entry codes in place Sept. 1
As part of our ongoing efforts to streamline processes and ensure consistency across the university, the following updates to shift differential time entry codes are effective September 1, 2024:
- Consolidation of Shift Differential Codes:
- Starting September 1, 2024, departments will see only one option for shift differential time entry codes (Shift Differential Pay for Shift). This replaces the previous three options (Employee Gets Shift Differential Pay, Shift Diff for Holiday Pay, Shift Diff for Time Off), simplifying the time entry process.
- Eligibility Expansion:
- Departments will be able to add shift differential pay to Nonpermanent Nonscheduled employees time entry calendar starting September 1, 2024.
Managers and supervisors should ensure their teams are aware of this change and understand that the process and policies for entering shift differential time have not changed. Modernization has updated the Entering Shift Differential on the Time Entry Calendar reference guide to reflect the consolidated shift differential time entry code.
