Grants Reporting Workgroup helps improve two popular grants reports

Modernization has partnered with grants management experts from across WSU to form a workgroup, focused on improving grants reports.

Recently, the workgroup provided feedback on two of the most commonly used grants reports for research administrators and central units. In response, Modernization has overhauled these two reports to optimize performance and usability. We’re excited to announce that updated versions of these reports are now available in Workday.

The updated reports can be run in a fraction of the time compared to the old versions, and display results in a more streamlined layout, requiring less scrolling to view financial data. They also contain enhanced prompt options, and are accessible to users including Grant Managers, SPS staff, and PIs who hold the FDV role.

The two new reports are:

• CR GRA Award Lines Financial Summary
• CR GRA Award Lines Budget to Actuals Summary

Please note: The original versions of these reports, CR GRA SPS Award Lines Financial Summary and CR GRA SPS Award Lines Budget to Actuals Summary, will be retired in 3-6 months, allowing time for users to become familiar with the new versions.

We will communicate the plans to retire the old reports within the reports themselves, as well as in the Workday Digest. Users who have scheduled either of these reports to run will need to create new report schedules using the new reports, and save their report prompts if desired.
