Optimization Consultations offer one-on-one help for areas

This summer, we’re excited to begin offering Optimization Consultations, a new opportunity for areas to connect with the Modernization team to maximize their use of Workday. If your area has been struggling with a specific function, or if you simply want to find ways to be more efficient in how you use Workday, Optimization Consultations can help your area get the most out of our system and business processes.

During an Optimization Consultation, Modernization analysts will meet one-on-one with areas to help assess their needs, address questions, and offer solutions to ensure your area is using Workday to its fullest potential. Optimization Consultations focus on how areas can best use Workday as it functions today.

There are four components to a consultation:

  • After receiving a request from your Area Finance Officer (AFO), they will be asked to complete a survey to help us understand where you need the most help.
  • Modernization meets with your area to discuss these challenges, questions, and concerns. Then, we develop a series of solutions and suggestions to address your area’s needs.
  • A second meeting between Modernization and your area is devoted to one-on-one, hands-on learning—we’ll teach you how to apply these solutions in your day-to-day work, guide you through each suggested change, and answer your questions.
  • We’ll follow up with your area with additional resources, as well as a recording of your consultations.

While suggestions for system improvements and potential changes to processes are welcome at any time via the Workday Service Desk, Optimization Consultations are intended to help areas get the most out of the current Workday system and existing business processes.

If you are interested in an Optimization Consultation with your area, reach out to your AFO, who can request a meeting and begin the process of assessing your needs. Optimization Consultations are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. We’re looking forward to finding ways to make your area’s Workday user experience better.
