Visa information now part of new hire process
We have added a step in the new hire onboarding business process to remind and request the HR Partner to enter the person’s visa information, if they have one. Having accurate visa data in Workday ensures both the employee and WSU are paying appropriate taxes, and, if the employee is eligible for benefits, can change which medical plans are appropriate to offer them. If the person does not have a visa, this step is optional, and can be skipped. The Hire (New Employee and Contingent Worker) Reference Guide has been updated to include this information.
