Improvements to Internal Service Delivery process

Several improvements are coming to the Internal Service Delivery (ISD) process:

  • If an ISD is changed or canceled by an Internal Service Delivery Data Entry Specialist, a new Workday notification will alert the Cost Center/Gift/Grant/Program/Project managers.
    • Note: Because the cancelation notification is an effective dated change, only ISDs that were created on or after 4/30/2021 will trigger a notification when canceled. Any ISDs that were created prior to the 4/30/2021 effective date will not trigger a notification when canceled.
  • The Internal Service Delivery Document Date must be today’s date for both “New” and “Changed” ISDs. If an Internal Service Delivery Data Entry Specialist “Changes” an ISD that’s already posted, they will need to update the Document Date to today’s date.
  • New Workday settings will help you make sure that the ASC revenue category is charged correctly. For example, it’s no longer possible to charge ASC revenue categories on federal funds, and ASC-exempt revenue categories can only be used when charging federal funds or when the customer is within the same area.
    • Note: ASC Exempt and Internal Sales revenue categories can only be used on ISDs and should never be used when completing the Record Cash Sale task in Workday. All sales internal to WSU must use the Internal Service Delivery functionality in Workday.
    • Note: If the Internal Service Provider is ASC Exempt, the fee will not be assessed regardless of the revenue category used. This means that the correct revenue category should be used based on the customer’s fund or area.
    • Note: Workday does not automatically lower the bill rate when billing federal grants the way SCBAIMS did. This adjustment will be the responsibility of the departments.

These changes will be live in Workday today.

ISD replaced the process for internal billing between departments. Read more about that here.
