What can you do now to prepare for training?

All WSU units and employees will begin Workday training in October 2020. In the meantime, here are steps you can take to be prepared:

  • Set up multi-factor authentication through Okta – you will need this to get into Workday.
  • Make yourself familiar with your Skillsoft learning account. You will use this to sign up for and access Workday trainings.
  • The Workday Knowledge Base is live and loaded with frequently asked questions about the project, and the Change Network is sharing the link with the community to encourage people to become familiar with the site and its robust search capabilities. The knowledge base will include training Reference Guides come September. These guides are step-by-step lists on how to complete processes in Workday.
  • Talk to your colleagues to figure out when you should take your Workday courses to ensure operations continue for your area during training.
  • Review the Workday Glossary and Terminology Crosswalk to build a solid foundation before formal training starts.

In other news, trainers are reviewing courses and submitting their feedback for incorporation into materials. The training materials also are being prepared for review by testers during User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Training for central units will take place prior to training for the rest of the University, as many people in the central units are Workday Trainers, and this will give them additional time to prepare.
