Training update

We hear your interest in learning more about Workday training. Starting with this post, we’ll do a training-specific update every month. Catch every blog post about training at modernization.wsu.edu/tag/training.

Training timeline

Training will start in October 2020. It will continue through launch in January 2021, with opportunities for ongoing and refresher training in the future. We know you need dates for planning purposes. We’re working on the more detailed timeline and will release that as soon as it’s ready.

Preparing for training

Here’s what the Modernization Team is up to right now:

• Continuing to develop and review training materials. These include 103 reference guides, 34 instructor-led trainings, and 17 online simulations & videos.
• Assigning Workday security roles to training courses & materials. The training you’ll need depends on the security roles you’ll have in Workday. Learn more about this on the new security roles web page.
• Preparing materials for Workday trainers, so they are equipped to teach the rest of the WSU community how to use Workday.
• Drafting the online training catalog, where you can go to see which trainings you’ll take.
• Setting up the structure for the Knowledge Base, where you’ll find all the reference guides for Workday tasks and processes.
