Prepare for Open Enrollment 2026

A new benefits election window is just around the corner, starting October 26th, 2026. Open Enrollment is WSU employees’ dedicated window to review their current health coverage and adjust their benefits enrollment. HRS encourages employees to review upcoming plan changes and premium updates in advance of making decisions regarding their benefits enrollment for 2027.

Do your homework today so you’re ready to enroll with confidence.

Important Dates:

• Open Enrollment Opens: October 26th, 2026 at 12:00 a.m.
• Open Enrollment Closes: November 23rd, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.

Please mark your calendars with these key dates so you don’t miss your window to make adjustments.

The elective choices you submit during this period will take effect on January 1st, 2027. Until then, your current enrollment remains active and unchanged through December 31st, 2026.

Changes you can make during annual Open Enrollment include:

• Change your medical, dental, and/or vision plans.
• Add or remove dependents.
• Attest to the spouse or state-registered domestic partner coverage premium surcharge for 2027, if required.
• Enroll or re-enroll in the Flexible Spending Arrangement (FSA), Limited Purpose FSA, or Dependent Care Assistance Program (DCAP) administered by Navia Benefit Solutions.
• Enroll in medical coverage, if previously waived.
• Waive your medical coverage if you are enrolled in another employer-based group medical plan, TRICARE, or Medicare.
