Changes to Time, Leave, and Absence

The next installment of the 5 Major Changes series is about time, leave, and absence. This new handout details the changes coming to time, leave, and absence when the University transitions to Workday in January 2021:

  • Workday will document time and absences electronically; this eliminates the need for paper time and leave reports.
  • Workday will administer standard time and absence tracking for the whole University.
  • All leave accruals will be calculated in Workday, providing greater visibility and ensuring accuracy.
  • Workday will allow employees to request time off in Workday, and managers can approve or reject these requests in the system.
  • The time entry calendar, absence calendar, and work schedules in Workday will help managers with organization.
