New report reviews mismatched Faculty academic assignments and job profiles
Just in time to audit fall promotions, we have developed a new report to help departmental HR personnel compare and ensure faculty position job profiles and academic appointments are aligned.
The new report, CR HCM Mismatched Assignments vs Appointment for Faculty, compares a faculty member’s primary position job profile description to their primary academic appointment rank. It can be run by supervisory organization(s) or supervisory organization hierarchy.
In most cases, a mismatch means the person’s position has changed over time, and their academic appointment was not updated to reflect the latest information. In a few cases, their primary position is a leadership position, such as Chair or Dean, and their primary appointment is something other than Professor. In all cases, the primary academic appointment should be the tenure track or tenured, if applicable.
If appropriate to do so, the position or academic appointment, whichever is incorrect, should be updated so the two match. It is unlikely, but there may be exceptional cases, where the position job profile and rank of the academic appointment may not match.
