As announced on March 26, 2025, the university will implement a variety of strategic pauses to hiring, travel, purchasing, and more as a measure to reduce spending. Below are Workday resources and additional helpful information related to these measures:

Job Reqs and Hiring
The Job Requisition is the vessel for recruitment processes. It connects the vacant position to the recruitment, posts the info for candidates to review and apply, then takes the candidates through the full process including interviews, background checks, offer, etc.
When hiring into a position, departments need to do the following:
- Create a new position if needed
- Create a Job Req to advertise and interview candidates
- Complete the Offer and Hire processes
- If the hire already has another position at WSU, use the Change Job or Add Job process
