Managing Key Events in Workday

The following resources help WSU employees manage key events and tasks in Workday.

Workday is the system of record for WSU’s financial and employee information. As a new employee it is important to review the following:

Time and Absence Definitions & Policies

  • Time Off: Workday’s term for leave, including sick leave, annual leave, or leave without pay (LWOP).
  • Leave of Absence: Workday’s term for a leave provision. An extended or intermittent time away from work, including the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Parental Leave that may include the use of a variety of time offs during the leave of absence event. 
  • Accruals: The accumulation of time off balances in the Workday Absence Management module.
  • Work Schedule: The schedule according to which managers assign work to their employees.
  • Time Worked: Record of the number of actual hours worked.
