Emily joined the Modernization team in January 2019. She has spent the last decade in communications positions with governments and nonprofits on both coasts, and is thrilled to be back home in the Northwest. Prior to WSU, she worked as a marketing and communications manager for the University of Idaho. Before moving to Pullman, Emily served as a public affairs specialist for the National Park Service in Washington, D.C. She has additional experience in environmental journalism, science writing, crisis communications, media relations, community planning, and facilitation.
Emily enjoys helping people and solving problems. She is excited to blend her passions for change and communications to help WSU modernize so we can all have better work days.
Emily is ambiverted, ambidextrous and ambivalent about the Oxford comma, which she knows bothers her fellow grammar nerds. When Emily isn’t at work, you can find her hiking, dancing, allergy-friendly baking, and spending time with her rescue dog.
